Biography
Corey D. Boddie is an attorney and founding partner of the law firm Boddie & Associates, P.C. with office in New York City, Los Angeles and Atlanta. His client roster include musical artists, producers, record labels, graphic artists and many in the Art, Film and Television industries for both entertainment and immigration matters. The law firm also represents individuals and business in regards to U.S. immigration and finance matters. Corey is known throughout the U.S. immigration industry as the “O visa specialist”.
The highlights of his legal career include his 2001 appointment to the General Counsel for the Manhattan Short Film Festival-considered to be one of the largest short film festivals in the world. His law firm handles all immigration matters for the Manhattan Short Film Festival. In 2003, Corey was profiled on “Celebrity Justice” and “Entertainment Tonight” with regards to a highly publicized multimillion-dollar copyright/trademark infringement case against the “Osbourne Family” and Sony Music Entertainment. In 2006, he was apart of the legal team regarding copyright infringement against Beyonce Knowles. In 2007, he was represented Ginuwine in a multimillion dollar breach of contract case profiled by AP. In 2010 and 2011, Corey also appeared on the hit reality TV Show “Basketball Wives”. Corey has also been retained by Princess Basmah Bint Saud of Saudi Arabia. In addition, Corey has been a panelist at a number of entertainment conferences as well as a specialist in the field of immigration law.
Corey is frequent speaker at media and entertainment industry events, including the Florida Music Festival & Conference (2006-2008); Texas Summer Music Conference (2005, 2006); Winter Music Conference (2008, 2009, 2013), Producers Conference (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007), Hedge Fund World Asia Managers Showcase in Singapore (2008, 2010) and is an avid speaker for the Practising Law Institute (PLI).
Corey is a member of a number of organizations including: Admitted to the prestigious U.S. Supreme Court, New York, California and Georgia State and Federal Courts, Board Member of The Soleil Global, The Council of Urban Professionals, The Entertainment Law Committee of the New York Bar Association-Board Member, Beverly Hills Bar Association, The Entertainment and Sports Law Forum of the American Bar Association-Officer, American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Recording Academy (Grammy Organization).
